Mendocino is approximately a 3.5 hour drive from both San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK), which have nonstop flights across both coasts.
The Sonoma County Airport (STS) is around a 2 hour drive to Mendocino, making it the closest option, though most travelers won't have a non-stop option.
Mendocino is a scenic drive from the Bay Area. Due to it's "off-the-grid" location (at least by California standards), the best way to reach Mendocino is by rental car. The beautiful drive along Highway 128 will take you past the rolling hills of wine country and through the towering redwoods until you reach the coast.
If you want to stop and stretch your legs on the drive up, there's a whole section on the Things To Do page dedicated to our favorite stops along the way (especially if you have a designated driver).
One more note: The road is a little bit windy so those prone to carsickness may want to plan ahead. We ordered these for our next trip up.
Mendocino is a small town, with many Inns, B&Bs, and Airbnbs within walking distance of our venue. We've blocked rooms when we could, but most are only available on a first-come, first-served basis; properties do book up, so we recommend making reservations early! Here are some nearby options we recommend, but we welcome you to explore other options.
We've blocked the whole hotel! Call the hotel for availability and mention you're a part of the Grahn/Rubin wedding. Online booking is not available for our wedding weekend.
